Who you are
You are an experienced Estimator who thrives on turning complex construction opportunities into accurate, competitive, and profitable project bids. You enjoy analyzing drawings, specifications, and project requirements while collaborating with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and internal teams to develop winning proposals.
You are detail-oriented, analytical, and highly organized. You take ownership of your work, communicate effectively, and continuously look for ways to improve estimating processes and outcomes. You understand the importance of balancing accuracy, risk, schedule, and profitability while helping position projects for successful execution.
What you bring to the table
- Minimum 5 years of experience as an Estimator with a General Contractor
- Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Engineering, Applied Technology, Business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience preparing estimates and tender submissions for commercial, institutional, industrial, multi-unit residential construction projects
- Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and tender documents
- Experience performing quantity take-offs, cost analysis, and bid preparation
- Understanding of construction methods, materials, procurement practices, and project delivery models
- Experience obtaining, reviewing, and evaluating subcontractor and supplier quotations
- Strong knowledge of project costs, market conditions, procurement strategies, and profitability drivers
- Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and time management skills
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Experience with estimating and construction management software such as Bluebeam and MS Project
- Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines while maintaining a high degree of accuracy
- Professional designations such as CPE, PQS, CIQS, Gold Seal, or equivalent are considered an asset
