Full job description

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Welder / Metal Fabricator to join our team in a high-mix, custom fabrication environment. The successful candidate will have a strong background in structural steel fabrication, welding, and material handling, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively to produce high-quality custom fabrications.

Responsibilities

Perform welding using FCAW (Flux Core Arc Welding), SMAW (Stick), GMAW (MIG), and GTAW (TIG) processes.
Weld and fabricate custom components including tanks, frames, drums, and structural steel assemblies.
Support layout, fitting, and welding operations for custom fabrication projects.
Cut and prepare materials using oxy-acetylene equipment, plate bevellers, grinders, and other fabrication tools.
Perform dimensional inspections using measuring tapes, verniers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments.
Operate semi-automatic welding equipment safely and efficiently.
Operate forklifts, hoists, and other lifting devices as required.
Handle and move materials throughout the fabrication facility.
Follow all Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) policies, including safe material handling, machine operation, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Perform other duties as assigned.

QualificationsRequired

Minimum 5 years of experience in a large metal fabrication or custom welding environment.
AEC, DEP, Skilled Trade Certificate, or equivalent trade qualification.
Strong understanding of engineering drawings, blueprints, and welding specifications.
Experience working with structural steel, plate materials, and stainless steel.
Ability to weld in Flat, Horizontal, Vertical, and Overhead positions.
