Immediate Openings: Event Security Guard – Temporary Positions

Location: Calgary area

We are seeking Security Guards/ Temporary positions for the Calgary area.

Shift availability — day, evening, and overnight coverage needed

$20.00 – pay rate per hour

This job posting is for an existing vacancy or vacancies and remains open until filled

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Observes and reports activities and incidents at an assigned client site, providing for the security and safety of client property, its assets, and personnel.
Makes periodic patrols to check for irregularities and to inspect protective devices and fire control equipment.
Preserves order and may act to enforce regulations and directives for the site pertaining to personnel, visitors, and premises.
Controls access to client sites or facility through the admittance process.
Patrols assigned sites on foot or in vehicles; checks for unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked doors, security violations, blocked entrances and exits, mechanical problems, and unauthorized persons.
Satisfies client needs by providing excellent customer service while minimizing risk to the client's property and assets.
Monitors intrusion detection systems using automated alarm and video monitoring software.
Use computer systems and software to monitor sites and complete basic training.
Protect evidence or scene of incident in the event of accidents, emergencies, or security investigations.
Responds to incidents of fire, medical emergency, bomb threat, flooding, water discharge, elevator emergency, hazardous materials, inclement weather, and other incidents or conditions following procedures established for the site and commensurate with their level of training.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have valid provincial Security Guard License
Working knowledge of security operations and procedures
Proven excellent English language skills, both verbal and written
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
Excellent organizational skills
Able to write routine correspondence, including logs and reports.
Basic computer skills such as the ability to use Microsoft Office.
Able to conduct lengthy interior and exterior patrols, climbing stairs and walking up inclines
Must have excellent customer service and communication skills.
Ability to handle stressful situations with tact and diplomacy
Capable of using CCTV system
First Aid/ CPR is considered an asset.
