Alamos Gold Inc. Young-Davidson is currently recruiting the following challenging position to join our operations team:

Security Guard

Alamos also has an early-stage exploration project in Canada, the Qiqavik Gold Project. Alamos Gold’s Young-Davidson is a low-cost, long-life operation and one of Canada’s largest underground gold mines. It is located near the town of Matachewan centrally located between Timmins, Kirkland Lake, North Bay and Sudbury, Ontario. The 2020 completion of a highly automated, lower mine expansion has resulted in Young-Davidson increasing production and generating strong free cash flow. With a large Mineral Reserve base, it will serve as Alamos’ foundation for growth for many years to come. This is a very exciting time at Young-Davidson, and we are searching for highly motivated and committed people to join our team!

Reporting to the Security Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for controlling access to the mine site.

Primary Responsibilities:

Your primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Daily inspections of minesite;
Signing in/out and screening of employees, visitors, suppliers and their belongings arriving and departing the mine site;
Vehicle inspections of any vehicle entering the mine site;
Conduct indoor and outdoor foot and vehicle patrols as required;
Maintain surveillance of surrounding area and report suspicious activity;
Observe and report daily activities and irregularities to appropriate personnel, such as equipment damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences;
Perform Fit For Work test as required; and
Other security duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

Requires a valid Class G license
Possess a valid security guard license, or working towards
Must be available to work weekends and nightshifts, independently
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Self-motivated
Willing to work Overtime
Previous training in First Aid and WHMIS would be an asset
Previous experience in related field is required

Pay or shift range: $26.13 CAD - $36.75 CAD / hour

Schedule: 7 days on, 7 days off – 12 hours
