Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Depot supervisor to oversee daily operations at our facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, hands-on experience with heavy equipment, and a commitment to safety and sanitation standards. This role is vital in ensuring efficient warehouse management, equipment operation, and maintaining a clean, safe environment for staff and visitors. The Depot Manager will play a key role in coordinating logistics, supervising staff, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.

Duties

Main job duties:
Supervise, co-ordinate, and schedule activities of staff.
Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve buying and sorting recycling products.
Establish methods to meet work schedules and coordinate work activities.
Requisition materials and supplies.
Recommend personnel actions such as hiring and promotions.
Prepare production and other reports.
Train workers in job duties, safety procedures and company polices.
May set up machines and equipment

Supervise daily depot operations, including loading and unloading activities.

Operate heavy equipment such as loaders, excavators, and forklifts to facilitate material handling
Oversee the safe operation of all heavy machinery and ensure adherence to safety regulations
Manage inventory levels and coordinate logistics for incoming and outgoing shipments
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the depot area, including routine

Requirements

.Graduation or equivalent degree

.Several years experience in related Fields.

Proven experience in manufacturing or warehouse management with hands-on heavy equipment operation skills
Proficiency in loader operation, excavator handling, forklift operation, and other heavy machinery
Strong knowledge of sanitation standards and cleaning procedures within industrial environments
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Leadership qualities with experience supervising teams in a fast-paced setting
Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment through adherence to safety protocols
Physical ability to perform demanding tasks including lifting, standing for extended periods, and operating machinery
Prior experience in sanitation or cleaning within industrial or manufacturing settings is preferred
