Overview

We are seeking a motivated and dependable Barista & Kitchen Team Member to join our team. This hybrid role is ideal for someone who enjoys both preparing quality beverages and supporting food production in a fast-paced café environment. You will play an important role in delivering exceptional customer experiences by preparing coffee, food, and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for guests.

ResponsibilitiesBarista Duties

Prepare and serve a variety of espresso-based beverages, teas, and specialty drinks according to established recipes and standards.
Provide friendly and attentive customer service, assisting guests with menu selections and orders.
Operate the POS system, process transactions accurately, and handle cash responsibly.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café, beverage station, and customer areas.
Promote featured products, seasonal offerings, and café specials.

Kitchen & Food Preparation Duties

Prepare sandwiches, wraps, salads, breakfast items, and other menu offerings according to recipes and food safety standards.
Assist with food prep, portioning, stocking, and kitchen organization.
Ensure food quality, presentation, and consistency.
Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
Assist with receiving and storing inventory properly.

General Responsibilities

Work collaboratively with team members during busy service periods.
Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to management.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Support café operations wherever needed to ensure an excellent guest experience.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a café, restaurant, food service, or hospitality environment is preferred but not required.
Experience as a barista, line cook, prep cook, or food service worker is considered an asset.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Basic cash handling and POS experience is an asset.
Knowledge of food safety and food handling practices is preferred.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
Availability to work weekends, holidays, and flexible shifts as required.
