Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Cook / Line Cook to join our kitchen team in a fast‑paced, authentic Italian restaurant in downtown Oshawa. The ideal candidate has a passion for Italian cuisine, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently during busy service periods. You’ll play a key role in preparing high‑quality dishes that reflect our commitment to fresh ingredients and traditional Italian flavors.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and cook menu items according to restaurant recipes and standards, including pasta dishes, sauces, proteins, pizzas, and appetizers.
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized workstation following food safety guidelines.
Assist with prep work such as chopping vegetables, preparing sauces, portioning ingredients, and marinating proteins.
Ensure food is cooked and presented consistently, with attention to timing and quality.
Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and front‑of‑house team to ensure smooth service.
Monitor inventory levels and notify supervisors of shortages or equipment issues.
Follow all health, safety, and sanitation procedures.
Support the team by helping with dishwashing, cleaning, and closing duties when needed.

Qualifications

Previous experience as a cook or line cook (Italian cuisine experience is an asset but not required).
Strong understanding of basic cooking techniques, knife skills, and kitchen equipment.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining accuracy and quality.
Good communication skills and a positive, team‑oriented attitude.
Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs as needed.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
