The Opportunity and Position Summary:

Join Tahltan Nation Development Corporation (TNDC) as a Site Human Resources Advisor and be the driving force behind a strong, supported, and high-performing workforce at Red Chris Mine. As the on-site HR lead, you will play a key role in shaping the employee experience—partnering with leaders and crews to deliver practical, people-focused HR support in a fast-paced, remote environment.

You, the Candidate:

From recruitment and onboarding to employee relations and performance support, you will help keep operations running smoothly while fostering a respectful, inclusive workplace grounded in TNDC’s values. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact—supporting both operational success and the growth of the Tahltan workforce.

What You Will Do and Core Responsibilities:

Act as the on-site HR point of contact, providing guidance and support to employees and supervisors on day-to-day HR matters, including employee relations, performance management, and HR policies and programs
Support recruitment, onboarding, and workforce planning activities, including promoting Tahltan employment opportunities
Ensure compliance with all applicable provincial and federal legislation, company policies, and HR best practices; update policies and procedures as required
Maintain accurate and confidential HR records, ensuring all HR activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in a timely manner
Assist with performance management, coaching, progressive discipline, and disability/return-to-work programs in collaboration with site leadership and HSE
Support timekeeping, payroll inquiries, reporting, and general HR administration
Coordinate training and development initiatives to support employee growth, retention, and workforce capacity
Collaborate with operations and HSE teams to support a safe, respectful, and inclusive work environment
Participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings, and other site meetings as required
Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, with 2–5 years of HR experience (preferably in construction, mining, or industrial environments)
Experience in a remote or rotational camp setting is an asset
Strong knowledge of BC employment standards, HR best practices, and experience supporting employee relations, recruitment, and performance management
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and influence at all levels
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Proficient in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems
Ability to work independently on-site while remaining aligned with corporate HR
Strong problem-solving, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills
Maintains a high level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality
Adaptable and comfortable working in a remote, camp-based environment
Demonstrates cultural awareness and a commitment to Indigenous engagement and inclusion

WORKING CONDITIONS:

2 weeks on / 2 weeks off rotation at Red Chris Mine, with camp accommodations and meals provided
Combination of office-based work and on-site engagement with employees and leadership
Fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing operational priorities
Regular interaction with a diverse workforce across site
Exposure to active industrial conditions, including weather and construction/mining activities
Travel to and from site required, with arrangements provided
The employee must adhere to agreed-upon work hours and be available for virtual meetings, calls, and collaboration during business hours.
Flexibility may be required to accommodate different time zones or urgent tasks.
Occasional travel or attendance at in-person meetings may be required based on job duties and business needs.
