Yard At A Time Concrete Ltd.– Concrete Finisher (NOC – 73100)

Title of Position: Concrete Finisher

Hours: Monday to Friday (40 hours/week)

Hourly Wage: $37.00

Employment Type: Full time, Permanent

Benefits: Disability insurance, dental insurance, and extended medical insurance after a 3-months' probation period, YAAT supplies all PPE and tools

At Yard-At-A-Time Concrete, we deliver ready-made concrete throughout the Delta area and the Greater Vancouver District including Burnaby, Tri-Cities, Richmond, Surrey and Langley.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Leveling the top surface of freshly poured concrete on floors, walls, ceilings or sidewalk
Waterproofing, damp-proofing and restoring concrete surfaces
Installing anchor bolts, steel plates and other fixtures in freshly poured concrete
Applying hardening and sealing compounds to cure the surface of concrete
Checking formwork, granular base and steel reinforcement materials and direct placement of concrete into forms or onto surfaces according to grade
Imparting desired finish to concrete surfaces using hand and power tools
Operating a variety of powered equipment including ride-on finishing machines and laser guided screeds
Controlling Machines and Processes
Using either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines or processes (not including computers or vehicle)
Handling and moving objects for concrete blocks
Monitoring processes, materials, or surroundings

Qualifications:

Completion of secondary school is usually required
Completion of a two- to four-year apprenticeship program or 2 years of work experience in the field
Ability to do physical labor and other strenuous physical tasks
Ability to work in all weather
Workers must be punctual and reliable
