Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mechanic Helper to support our maintenance and repair team. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with heavy equipment, industrial machinery, and automotive systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, willingness to learn, and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in trucks and heavy-duty vehicles
Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, brake adjustments, tire rotations, and fluid checks
Repair or replace engines, transmissions, axles, steering systems, and suspension components
Diagnose faults using computerized diagnostic equipment and technical manuals
Inspect brake systems, air systems, and emissions control systems to ensure safety and compliance
Perform preventive maintenance to minimize breakdowns and extend vehicle life
Test vehicles after repairs to ensure proper performance and safety
Maintain accurate service records and repair documentation
Follow safety procedures and company maintenance standards
Communicate with supervisors and drivers regarding vehicle condition and repair needs
Keep tools, equipment, and work areas clean and in good working order

Requirements

Previous dealership or mechanic experience preferred but not required; willingness to learn on the job is essential
Basic knowledge of automotive repair, HVAC systems, welding, electrical systems, or industrial maintenance is desirable
Ability to use hand tools, power tools, schematics, and assembly instructions effectively
Strong mechanical knowledge with an aptitude for troubleshooting complex systems
Physically capable of heavy lifting and performing manual labor for extended periods
Excellent customer service skills are a plus for interacting with clients or team members
Must be reliable, safety-conscious, and eager to develop technical skills in a dynamic environment

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
