Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented candidate to join our team as a Commercial Real Estate Appraiser Candidate. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in property valuation, market analysis, and real estate assessment. The ideal candidate will be eager to develop their skills in data collection, accounting principles, and mathematical analysis within a professional environment. This position is suitable for individuals interested in pursuing a career in real estate appraisal, providing valuable training and mentorship to support your growth in the industry.

Responsibilities

Assist with collecting comprehensive data on commercial properties, including physical characteristics, location details, and market conditions
Support the preparation of appraisal reports by gathering relevant financial and property information
Conduct basic market research to understand current trends affecting property values
Help analyze property data using mathematical and accounting principles to support valuation estimates
Participate in site visits under supervision to observe property conditions and gather necessary information
Maintain organized records/databases of all data collected and ensure accuracy for reporting purposes
Collaborate with senior appraisers to learn industry best practices and improve appraisal techniques

Skills

Undergraduate university degree from a recognized post-secondary institution. Preference is given to business, commerce, or related degrees that support an expedited path toward the AACI — Accredited Appraiser Canadian Institute designation.
For experienced applicants: current AIC Candidate Membership and demonstrated progress toward the AACI designation, with relevant commercial appraisal experience.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); comfort adopting new technology and analytical tools is a strong asset.
Strong affinity for analytics, research, and report writing; detail-oriented with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Highly self-motivated with a consistently professional demeanor.
Valid Class 5 driver’s licence with a reliable mode of transportation.
Willingness to maintain (or obtain) membership with the Appraisal Institute of Canada and to complete the required course work toward the AACI designation.

This position provides a valuable pathway into the field of commercial real estate appraisal, offering practical experience and professional development opportunities for aspiring appraisers.

Pay: From $50,000.00 per year
