We are currently seeking a qualified Accountant to join our team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepare and report on monthly financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Generate management reports and supporting materials for the controllers.
Maintain and reconcile the general ledger to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Prepare journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations as necessary
Assist in the budgeting process, including the creation and management of budgets.
Support forecasting efforts to ensure financial objectives are met.
Manage accounts payable and receivable functions to ensure timely payments and collections.
Prepare and file HST returns in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Review and release all purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and adherence to budgetary constraints.
Coordinate and support annual financial audits and tax reviews, providing necessary documentation and information.
Maintain and strengthen internal controls over accounting processes, cash flow, and asset management.
Provide timely and accurate service to internal clients and stakeholders, addressing any inquiries or concerns related to financial matters.

QUALIFICATIONS

Completion of Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance or related field.
Previous experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably within the construction industry.
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office particularly with Excel.
1-2 years’ experience in preparing financial statements and supporting with other accounting duties.
Highly organized and detailed in performing duties.
Efficient and effective time management, demonstrating ability to meet deadlines while producing quality and accurate work.
Strong communication skills, written and verbal, to develop positive professional relationships.
Experience in Construction industry is an asset.
