We are seeking a seasoned and skilled Upholsterer to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

As an Upholsterer you will be responsible for upholstering high end, custom furniture which includes the following:

·Using scissors, stable guns, hammers, air powered tools to upholster customized furniture pieces in accordance with production ticket requirements and item specifications

· Expertly matching all pieces to ensure pattern continuity, uniformity and alignment

· Ensuring that all pieces are upholstered to Gresham House's quality standards

· Able to work with different furniture pieces and are comfortable using a wide range of different fabrics

What will I be doing for the first six (6) months?

You will start at Gresham House by supporting the upholstery team – working on decking, applying body foam, and preparing pieces. This stage is important, as it builds the foundation and familiarity with the techniques required for full upholstery the Gresham House way. From there, you would progress into more advanced work.

As skills develop, your pay rate will be adjusted to reflect your ability as an upholsterer – including skill level, efficiency, and the quality of your work. If you are able to upholster within the expected timeframes, demonstrate strong technique, and consistently produce clean, high-quality results, your compensation will grow accordingly.

Once we get to the end of six months we will also want to understand your goals – what are you looking to achieve and how do you see yourself growing in upholstery – so we can make sure this role aligns with what you’re looking for long-term.

Required Skills/Qualifications:

Must have 2+ years of prior upholstery experience (preferably residential)
Have previously worked in a warehouse, manufacturing or similar environment
Ability to read, interpret and follow production tickets
Self-motivated with a sincere interest in creating high quality, customized furniture pieces
Able to lift and move up to 50 pounds of material in a safe manner
Team player and must work well with all other roles
Be positive and receptive to feedback, open to learning new skills
Possess strong attention to detail
Strong adherence to health and safety, must keep the work area clean and tidy area at all times and recognize that health and safety is priority
Have some flexibility to work longer hours during busy periods

Hours:

Monday to Friday 7:15 AM to 3:45 PM
Occasional overtime and weekend work during peak seasons; April to July and September to December
Plant shutdown last 2 weeks of July leading into August long weekend and between Christmas Day and New Years.
