This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic and rewarding environment where you can help our patients on their journey to better oral health. .

We have a modern, progressive fully digital practice in beautiful Nelson, BC. We are looking for a detail-oriented and committed receptionist to join our existing amazing front desk team . This position is starting with 1-2 days per week, with the potential for a larger role in the coming years. You will serve as an initial point of contact for our patients, delivering outstanding customer service while effectively handling administrative tasks. This position demands strong communication abilities and knowledge of dental office procedures, including experience with electronic health record systems and front desk processes. On the job training for the dental specific aspects of this role is a possibility for the right candidate with general reception experience.

Duties

Greet patients warmly and manage the check-in process efficiently.
Schedule and confirm appointments using dental software.
Handle incoming calls and inquiries, providing information about services and assisting with patient needs.
Maintain accurate patient records in electronic medical records systems.
Process patient payments and manage billing inquiries.
Coordinate with dental staff to ensure smooth patient flow throughout the office.
Assist with administrative tasks, including filing, data entry, and maintaining office supplies.
Ensure the front desk area is organized and welcoming for patients.

Requirements

Previous experience in a dental office or medical office setting is preferred.
Familiarity with front desk operations and phone systems is essential.
Proficiency in using electronic medical records software is an asset.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
A positive attitude and a commitment to providing outstanding patient care.
Team player with ability to fit in and support existing staff is paramount

Job Types: Part-time

Pay: Up to $30.00 per hour

Experience

Office Reception: 1 year (required)
Dental Experience is preferred
Dental Reception Course or Certificate is an asset
Familiarity with Cleardent dental software is a plus

Work Location: In person
