The Opportunity

As Theberge Group of Companies expands its rental portfolio, there is a clear and growing need for a skilled Property Accountant to anchor the financial operations of that growth. This is not a back-office role in a large corporation where your work disappears into layers of hierarchy. At Theberge, you will work closely with property managers and senior leadership, and the accuracy and insight you bring will directly inform real business decisions.

If you have strong Yardi experience, a solid grasp of property accounting, and you want your contributions to count, this role is worth your attention.

Key Responsibilities

– Maintain accurate financial records across the rental portfolio using Yardi Voyager 7

– Process accounts payable and receivable for all rental properties

– Perform monthly bank reconciliations and property account reconciliations

– Prepare rent rolls, vacancy reports, and periodic financial statements

– Manage tenant billing, deposits, and payment processing through Yardi

– Support month-end and year-end closing procedures

– Provide financial reporting and analysis to property managers

– Maintain vendor files and process invoices for maintenance and operations

– Prepare documentation required for audits and tax filings

– Generate custom management reports to support operational decision-making

Qualifications & Experience

Required

– 3–5 years of property accounting or bookkeeping experience, with hands-on Yardi Voyager 7 use

– Post secondary education in accounting.

– Solid understanding of property management accounting principles

– Experience managing financials across a multi-property portfolio

– Working knowledge of Canadian tax regulations and compliance requirements

– High degree of accuracy and attention to detail

– Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams

An Asset

– Experience with purpose-built rental or residential real estate development

– Familiarity with Ottawa’s local market and regulatory environment
