Job Overview
We are seeking a talented and experienced Chef to lead our culinary team In a retirement home, delivering exceptional dining experiences. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive food industry knowledge, and a passion for creating delicious, high-quality dishes. This role involves overseeing food preparation, managing kitchen operations, and ensuring adherence to food safety standards. The Chef will play a vital role in maintaining the dinings reputation for excellence and fostering a positive team environment.

Duties

Prepare and cook a variety of menu items with precision and creativity, ensuring consistency and quality.
Collaboration with other departments
Supervise kitchen staff, including training new team members and managing daily operations.
Oversee food handling procedures to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Manage food inventory, order supplies, and control waste to optimize kitchen efficiency.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area in accordance with safety standards.
Collaborate with restaurant management on menu development, special events, and customer service initiatives.
Serve as a leader in the kitchen, motivating staff to achieve high standards of performance and hospitality.
Ensure timely service of dishes while maintaining attention to detail and presentation.

Requirements

Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and food service within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
Supervising experience with team management skills essential for leading kitchen staff effectively.
Strong knowledge of food safety protocols and handling procedures.
Demonstrated leadership abilities with a focus on hospitality excellence.
Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members and front-of-house staff.
