Full job description

Baffin Fisheries a 100% Inuit owned company, and largest fishing enterprise in Northern Canada, has an immediate opening for an experienced SECOND MATE for its factory-freezer multi-species trawler MV Sivulliq.

Qualifications:

The successful applicant must have experience and knowledge of the following:

Trawl Deck and Factory operations on a offshore otter trawling / freezing vessel
Ship navigation
Administrative requirements of the ship
Monitoring of ships housekeeping
Monitoring and ordering of various ships supplies
Commitment to HSE
Certification in Crane and Forklift Operation is an asset.

Mandatory Requirements:

The successful applicant must hold the following valid certification:

Transport Canada Fishing Master III
Transport Canada MED's / STCW Endorsements
Transport Canada Marine Medical
Transport Canada Seaman's Book
Passport

Work rotation is 2 trips on / 2 trips off, and working in port with members of the opposite rotation as required.
