Position Summary:

Smilegate West is looking for a Bookkeeper who will be responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and all financial transaction recording.

This position is available as either full time (40 hours/week, 2x a week in office) or as part time (30 hours/week, 1x a week in office).

This job post is for a current vacancy for maternity leave coverage.
This position is a contract role until September 2027.

Position Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable

Recording financial transactions using QuickBooks
Payment of vendor invoices via cheque, wire or other payment methods
Providing credit card reconciliations
Calculating and preparing withholding tax payments
Maintaining and organizing vendor documents
Providing payment request report to HQ on a weekly basis

Accounts Receivable and Reporting

Preparing Royalty report and Recharge Reconciliation report in collaboration with the Junior Accountant

Billing

Utilizing billing system (Pay Letter) to add game credits to players of the game

Position Outcomes/Objectives and Standards of Performance:

1. Vendors are accurately paid in a timely manner.

Invoices are paid on due date and there are zero service fees charged for late payments.

2. Accounting data in all financial reports is accurate.

Reconciliation in QuickBooks is error free and all transactions are balanced.

3. Inquiries from Finance Manager are processed and completed in a timely manner.

All requests are responded to with accurate information within 1 business day.

4. Incumbent demonstrates behaviours aligned with the organization’s values, vision and mission statement.

Feedback from stakeholders and team members confirms that incumbent consistently demonstrates actions aligned with company’s values.

Qualifications and Skills:

Students in their last year/semester or recent graduates from a Finance/Accounting or other related degree programs are welcome to apply.
1+ years of experience in QuickBooks
Previous experience using Microsoft Excel and Word
Previous experience using a variety of payment methods (i.e. wire and cheque payments)
Strong time management and organizational skills
Strong attention to details with a high focus on accuracy
Ability to respond to issues and provide quick, timely resolution
Strong communication skills
