Full job description

The Erb Group is one of North America’s largest privately-owned refrigerated transportation providers. Its head office is based in New Hamburg, Ontario, with additional Canadian terminals in Baden, Toronto, Thunder Bay, North Bay, Ottawa, Montreal, Trenton, and Winnipeg. In addition, we have been recognized as Best Fleets to Drive For several years, a Top Fleet Employer and continue to be a safety industry leader.

Compensation: $0.563/Mile + $27.59 while at customer location
Shift: Monday - Friday; 8pm Start. Home daily.

SUMMARY
Valid AZ/Class 1 license required. Drive to locations to deliver and/or pick up product. Move freight between terminal locations. Fill out all required paperwork. Represent Erb Transport professionally and give the best customer service possible.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible to drive safely in all types of road and weather conditions and temperatures.
Responsible to deliver freight as per schedule and company policy.
Communicate with dispatch according to department procedures regarding pickups, deliveries or inquires.
Responsible for a required pre/post-trip inspection ensuring equipment is in safe working order.
Communicate with shop when maintenance is required.
Familiar with and carry out all required paperwork according to company policy.
Familiar with and comply to all hours of service and Ministry of Transportation regulations for all jurisdictions.
Responsible for loading and unloading of product in a safe, accurate and professional manner.
Responsible for the operation of the onboard telematic device which includes the electronic log and communication system for communication with dispatch.
Familiar with operations of The Erb Group and comply with company regulations.
Responsible to attend Driver Safety meetings.
Drivers are not assigned to dedicated units, and slip seating is required.
All other duties as required.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum 1 year verifiable driving experience on AZ/Class 1 license required.
Meet the licensing requirements for the specific job opening.
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and health survey.
CVOR, Driver abstract and a copy of a drivers license must be provided at time of interview.
Employment reference check will be completed.
Criminal record check will be required.
Required to wear PPE (provided by The Erb Group).

WORKING CONDITIONS May vary from terminal to terminal, but primarily will be:

The Erb Group is a 24/7 Operation, with runs departing daily.
Departure times will vary and will be determined by H.O.S. regulations.
There is no set end time on any given day and work can be up to and including the HOS regulations.
Drivers must be willing to work overnight.
Winnipeg drivers are required to stay in the truck for 3-4 days at a time.
