Full job description

Our client, a well-established, successful, and advanced manufacturing facility in Eastern Ontario, is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager. The role reports to the Operations Manager and is a fabulous career opportunity with an enviable organization.

This position plays a critical role in supporting production, leading plant engineering, capital projects, maintenance/reliability and continuous improvement initiatives in a safety and quality-first environment.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for planning and directing all aspects of engineering activities and initiate, organize and prioritize engineering projects and resources.
Plan and manage the departmental budget.
Oversee maintenance, electrical, mechanical, powerhouse, and wastewater treatment functions; with production resolve quality and technical challenges.
Implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
Manage a cross-functional multidisciplinary team, contractors and vendors.
Lead, coach, and develop engineering, maintenance and utilities team.
Ensure alignment between engineering and production goals.
Drive Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and 5S initiatives.
Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions (CAPA).
Oversee the plant maintenance activities; champion preventative maintenance and equipment optimization programs.
Maintain and operate plant as per Technical Safety and TSSA regulations.
Promote/maintain the current collaborative team culture and high levels of employee involvement.

The IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering and a P.Eng.
8+ years’ manufacturing leadership experience
Experience using CMMS systems, utilities and WWTP an asset.
Knowledge of a food processing plant and technology including spray dryer, powder handling and blending, filling and packaging systems.
Strong organizational, analytical, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

Compensation: $110 - $130 + bonus
