The Host plays a vital role in being the first point of contact for each guest. The Host ensures each interaction is positive, friendly, and upbeat, while leaving a memorable impression from the time they arrive to the time they depart.

Responsibilities for this role include:

Creating a positive experience and memorable impressions
Ensuring friendly and prompt greetings and seating of all guests
Supporting the team by running food, clearing tables, assist with cleaning or taking payments
Answering phone calls to take reservations or handle guest inquiries
Managing the reservation system and floor plan to ensure proper flow and organization
Maintaining a clean, organized, and stocked host stand
Assist with room service orders and deliver to guest rooms
Following all legislative requirements and internal standards, policies, and procedures while upholding the company’s core values
All other duties as required

The “must haves”:

A passion for the tourism industry
Positive and energetic personality
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Physical ability to stand for long periods of time
Great organizational, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills
Confident in striking up conversation and connecting with guests in a positive and upbeat manner
Ability to work a variety of shifts including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
Confident in answering the phone and answering guest questions
Qualified applicants must be legally eligible to work in Canada and, where applicable, possess a valid work or study permit that allows the candidate to fulfill the requirements of the role

The “nice to haves”:

Previous host and/or restaurant experience
Basic food and beverage knowledge
