Job Title: Mechanical Insulator

Job Description

The position involves working with a leading provider of mechanical insulation services. You will be part of a major contract to install mechanical and wall insulation inside ships for the Canadian Coast Guard and Royal Canadian Navy.

Responsibilities

Apply, remove, and repair thermal and acoustical insulation such as calcium silicate, glass foam, mineral wool, fiberglass, and armflex on various industrial equipment including duct piping, heat exchangers, tanks, and vessels.
Read and interpret drawings and specifications to determine insulation requirements.
Select the appropriate amount and type of insulation and method for securing it, considering the surface type, temperature conditions, and equipment use.
Measure and cut insulating materials to fit around obstructions, shaping them as needed.
Install vapor barriers and finish insulated surfaces using metal cladding, canvas, PVC, or cement.

Essential Skills

3+ years experience with mechanical insulation
Proficient with hand and power tools.
Meet security requirements (Permanent Resident or citizen).
Effective English communication skills.
CSTS certification.
Reliable transportation.
