Full job description

The Crupi Group of Companies is a family-run business that has serviced Toronto and surrounding areas since 1951 in the road construction, aggregate material and maintenance industries.

We are looking to hire a seasonal full-time Quality Control Lab Field Technician! This is a great opportunity for hands-on experience within the road construction industry.

Reporting to the Quality Manager, the QC Lab Technician is responsible for performing testing while maintaining a safe working environment by complying with all safety guidelines.

Responsibilities:

Primary duties include testing & sample collection of asphalt.
Perform Field Quality Control Testing (material sampling, compaction, coring).
Ensure that measuring equipment is calibrated.
Participate in activities related to the quality system, and other duties as assigned.
Approximately 70% of time is spent in the lab, and 30% in the field (a Company vehicle is provided for travel between sites).

Qualifications:

Experience in the civil industry or in a laboratory environment is an asset.
Strong commitment to Health and Safety.
The ability to lift at least 50lbs on a regular basis is required.
Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage and prioritize workload.
Must have excellent attention to detail.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Must be available to work flexible shifts.

***A valid Ontario G-class Driver’s License with an acceptable driver’s abstract is required.

Location:

In-person at our Scarborough location (70 Passmore Avenue, Toronto, ON)

Hours of Operation:

Shifts are typically 10-12 hours in length, starting at 6:00am, however may fluctuate and may include night-shift operations when needed, depending on business needs.

Seasonality:

Our season is operational from April to December. During the winter months, snow removal positions are available.
