Account Supervisor – Public Accounting (Audit & Review Focused)

St. Catharines, ON

Schedule: Monday-Friday
Full-Time | In-person

Hired by Express Employment Professionals on behalf of our client

Express Employment Professionals is recruiting an Account Supervisor for a thriving medium-sized regional public accounting firm in St. Catharines, ON. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced public accountant ready to step into a leadership role, guide engagements, mentor junior staff, and make a meaningful impact in a GAAP-focused environment.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

Engagement Leadership

Lead audit engagements, from simple to complex, ensuring quality and efficiency.
Prepare and review compilation, review, and Notice to Reader (NTR) engagement files.
Take ownership of specific audit or review areas.

Team Mentorship & Development

Review junior staff work and provide constructive feedback.
Support professional growth of team members through guidance and coaching.
Participate in training initiatives and firm-wide committees.

Client & Firm Contribution

Collaborate with management to improve internal processes.
Contribute to firm initiatives, networking events, conferences, and client interactions.
Turn financial information into meaningful insights for clients of varying sizes.

Qualifications

Minimum 2+ years of public accounting experience.
Demonstrated audit experience, including independently leading engagements.
Experience in GAAP-focused environment (IFRS not required).
CPA designation (or in progress).
Experience preparing compilation/assembly files and review engagement files (simple to complex).
Experience reviewing junior staff work and providing feedback.
Exposure to preparing or reviewing Notice to Reader (NTR) engagements.
Demonstrated involvement in training, process improvement, or internal initiatives.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
