Head Chef

ME Southeast Asian Cuisine

At ME Southeast Asian Cuisine, we specialize in bringing the diverse and rich flavors of Southeast Asia directly to our guests' tables. Our kitchen expertly crafts traditional favourites from regions like Thailand and Malaysia, ensuring that every dish—from our fragrant curries to our savory noodle dishes—is made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. We are passionate about authentic storytelling through food, and we are looking for team members who share our dedication to exceptional flavour and hospitality.

Work location: 10 East Wilmot Street suite 5, Richmond Hill, ON L4B 1G9 (On site)

Positions Available: 1

Start Date: ASAP

Salary: $ 36.00 hourly

Terms of employment: full-time, permanent position.

Hours of work: 44 hours per week. Evening, Day, Weekend.

What You Will Be Doing

RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales and inventory
Demonstrate new cooking techniques and new equipment to cooking staff
Create new recipes
Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of food
Supervise cooks and other kitchen staff
Prepare and cook food on a regular basis, or for special guests or functions
Prepare and cook meals or specialty foods
Requisition food and kitchen supplies
Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards
Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food

What You Will Bring

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience

Languages: English

Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience as a Chef specializing in Southeast Asian cuisine.

Deep culinary knowledge of Indonesian, Thai, Malaysian, and Singaporean flavours and techniques.

Proven ability to supervise, train, and manage a kitchen team of 3–4 people.

Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Work under pressure.

Attention to detail. Standing for extended periods
