Job Description

Busy Fleet shop in North York is looking to hire an experienced, full-time, Licensed 310S Automotive Technician. Applicants must have minimum 3-5 years recent, relevant experience and must work well in a team environment.

Fleet Specialties Inc. provides vehicle maintenance and repair services to fleet clients. Services includes preventative maintenance, brakes, tires, wheel & hub services, annual safety inspections and certifications, heating & air conditioning, and more suspension, hydraulics, diagnostics, electrical, a/c, tires, brakes, alignments, oil changes, up-fitting, etc.

We offer clean, modern equipment, shop tools, and facility. Vehicles include cars, light and medium trucks and vans.

Shop is within easy walking distance to Downsview Park subway station. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, have a passion for cars, and will enjoy working as part of a team.

Position Requirements:

English communication skills (written and verbal).
Must be able to drive vans and light-duty trucks.
Valid Ontario G driver’s license with clean abstract.
3-5 years recent, relevant experience working on cars, vans, pick-up trucks and/or walk-in vans.
310S or 310T Licensed

Desired Qualifications:

High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Good written communication skills.
Technical communication skills.
Good time management.
Manual dexterity skills.
Ability to lift - up to 80 pounds.
Ability to stand for long periods of time.
Tools are a necessity.

Responsibilities:

Perform the tasks described in the repair orders efficiently and accurately.
Use appropriate tools, test equipment, and report defective or poorly functioning equipment to management.
Obtain required parts from the parts department.
Performing quality professional repairs and maintenance.
Providing complete and accurate documentation of finished work.
Road testing vehicle for quality control.
Responding to repair inquiries in a prompt manner.
Performing repairs and maintenance service work requested in accordance with approved quality and efficiency standards.
Applying knowledge and ability to safely utilize all tools and equipment.
Test driving and assuring proper operation of all vehicles in accordance with the Ontario Ministry of Transportation standards.
Completing service-related paperwork in a detailed and legible manner.
Maintaining a professional appearance by wearing assigned uniforms.
Maintaining work area in a clean and orderly manner to meet safety requirements determined by dealership and government agencies.
Discarding residual waste or hazardous materials using the proper disposal methods.
