Full job description

Who We Are

NETES is a not-for-profit Indigenous organization supporting the success of Indigenous people in Winnipeg. We offer adult education, skills training and employment services, along with wrap-around services such as daycare, student housing, and health and wellness programming. Rooted in community, respect, and Indigenous values, our work helps build a strong, thriving Indigenous community.

The Opportunity

The Community Engagement Coordinator reports to the Co-Executive Directors and plays a key role in supporting and monitoring community-based employment, education, and training initiatives. The Coordinator works closely with Indigenous community partners, funded agencies, participants, and NETES staff to help ensure programs meet established requirements, participant information is accurately maintained, and funded initiatives achieve their intended outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Identify community needs and priorities and develop appropriate plans and initiatives to address them.
Build and maintain meaningful relationships with Indigenous community stakeholders, funded agencies, project sponsors, and external organizations, and provide ongoing guidance and support throughout the duration of funded agreements.
Act as a liaison between NETES, community partners, funding recipients, and project sponsors, and other stakeholders to support effective communication and coordination.
Monitor funded programs for compliance with agreements, timelines, budgets, reporting requirements, and program deliverables and follow up on outstanding information or concerns as needed.
Support participant registration and ensure all required eligibility and program documentation is collected before the program begins.
Record and maintain accurate participant and program information in organizational databases and approved data-tracking systems, including action plans, attendance, progress, early exits, completions, employment outcomes, and follow-up activities.
Compile and analyze program, participant, financial, and outcome information to prepare monthly and quarterly reports and project updates for the Co-Executive Directors and funders.
Collaborate with the Finance Officer to ensure financial and administrative information is accurate, complete, and processed within required timelines.

Qualifications

Post-secondary degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Community Development, Project Management, or related field, or an acceptable combination of education and training.
Minimum of two years of experience coordinating, administering, or monitoring adult education, employment, or training initiatives.
Ability to provide and maintain satisfactory Criminal Record and Child Abuse Registry Checks.
Valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
Availability to attend occasional community meetings, events, or activities outside regular working hours.

Experience and Skills

Experience working with Indigenous individuals, communities, or organizations, with a strong understanding of community engagement, partnership development, and relationship management.
Knowledge of Indigenous employment, education, and training needs and the barriers experienced by Indigenous participants.
Ability to establish effective working relationships with community partners, funded agencies, participants, and staff.
Experience monitoring funding agreements and budgets and preparing reports is considered an asset.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy when maintaining participant records, monitoring program information, and preparing reports.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly and respectfully explain funding requirements and agreement terms.
Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and electronic data-management systems.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive participant, financial, and organizational information.
