Mold Flow Specialist (Tooling) - VTCA

Vuteq Technical Center Americas is a Sales and Engineering service provider representing Vuteq and Diversity Vuteq manufacturing groups throughout North America. The Vuteq group of companies is actively engaged in automotive parts manufacturing and design and currently supplies Interior and Exterior components to General Motors, Toyota Motor Manufacturing and Honda Motor Manufacturing. These are new open position for a Mold Flow Specialist to join our team!

Job Description

The Mold Flow Specialist is responsible for performing mold flow simulations and analysis using mold flow simulation software. Defining fill, pack and warp and translating into processing parameters for tooling and processing team members. This individual will provide process support for new tool tryouts and establish correlations with Moldflow simulations.

Salary Range: $70,000 - $100,000/yr

Position Description

Working with Tooling Engineers, lead Moldflow simulation activity for new part development
Analyze Moldflow results and recommend part design, gating and process changes to improve part quality and process window
Perform new tool qualification using a scientific molding approach.
Compare results of molding trials to simulations and revise analysis assumptions to correlate results
Develops and documents process and set-up procedures
Provide support to plant requests for trouble shooting Part defects or processing issues.
Completes MoldFlow related customer documentation when required.
Support implementation of Scientific/ Decoupled Molding processes.
Project management including DOE's and process capability studies.
Performs job in a safe manner and strives to meet or exceed company safety goals.
Capture lessons learned from previous projects and correct/mitigate for future projects
Schedule and Manage Mold Flow reports to meet timelines

Qualifications

Education

Successful completion of a minimum 2-4 year post-secondary program; design, mechanical, and manufacturing engineering are considered an asset
Related Mold Flow Courses IE; MoldFlow 101, Moldflow Insight to Fundamentals, Advance Flow + Cool and Warp
Successful completion of a mold design/mold maker apprenticeship an asset

Experience

MoldFlow Software; Autodesk, Moldex3D
3-5 years of experience in injection mold design/mold tooling
Injection processing: Setting up and Running Injection Moulds
Cad software: Cimatron, NX
Automotive experience is considered to be an asset

Skills and Abilities

Ability to show versatility and resourcefulness when problem solving
Attention to detail and accuracy when preparing and reviewing mold designs
Ability to adapt to changing demands from customers as well as fellow team members
Strong interpersonal skills; having to communicate with several people at once
Ability to organize priorities based on deadlines and importance of tasks
Manage time efficiently while working on several different tasks at once
Sense of creativity when designing a mold, and when having to change and adapt to different specifications

Other

Must have a valid driver’s license
