Analyst, Business Systems Specialist (6 Months Term)

The opportunity:

Reporting to the Senior Business Operations Specialist, the Analyst, Business Operations Specialist supports the development, documentation, and continuous improvement of business processes, policies, and procedures. The role is responsible for creating and maintaining SOPs, process documentation, and operational logs, identifying process gaps, and supporting operational readiness for FY26/27 project delivery. Working collaboratively across departments, the Analyst helps streamline workflows, enhance efficiency, support implementation activities, and ensure operational activities are completed in alignment with established service standards.

Key responsibilities include:

Process Documentation & Governance
- Develop, maintain, and continuously improve SOPs, process maps, operational logs, and related documentation to support consistent and effective business operations.
Operational Readiness & Project Support
- Support operational readiness for FY26/27 project delivery by documenting processes, assessing impacts, and ensuring successful transition to business-as-usual operations.
Process Improvement
- Identify process gaps and opportunities for standardization, efficiency, and automation, recommending and implementing improvements where appropriate.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Partner with internal departments and project teams to gather requirements, align operational processes, and support the implementation of business initiatives.
Service Standards & Quality Assurance
- Ensure operational activities, documentation, and deliverables are completed accurately and within established service standards and timelines.
Risk & Controls
- Identify and escalate operational risks, process deficiencies, and control gaps while supporting audit, compliance, and governance requirements.

The ideal candidate will possess:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Information Technology or a related field.
2-3 years’ financial services industry experience working in a high growth environment.
2+ years’ experience in vendor and custodian management.
2+ years’ experience in a customer/client-service facing role.
Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Experience in the wealth management or other regulated industry is a strong asset.
Proficiency with the MSOffice suite, including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Teams, and Outlook.
Advanced Excel proficiency with expertise in handling large data sets and performing complex comparisons for analysis and insight.
Demonstrate a high level of accountability, reliability, adaptability, and innovation in accomplishing day to day work and long-term goals.
Excellent attitude and commitment to providing extraordinary service.
An excellent attention to detail.
Exceptional problem-solving with strong analytical thinking and initiative.
Takes initiative to identify opportunities, solve problems, and contribute independently to team goals without needing direction.
Exemplary interpersonal and influencing skills; an ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively, across multiple mediums (in-person, over the phone, and virtually).
Strong organizational skills.
A high tolerance for ambiguity; highly adaptive and able to manage a large volume of competing priorities.
Strong critical thinking and written and verbal communication skills.
An ability to maintain the highest levels of confidentiality.
