Full job description

North Vancouver City Library is seeking a friendly, confident, service-oriented Customer Service Associate (CSA) to join our team part-time (24 hours per week).

Reporting to the Supervisor, Operations and Customer Experience, the successful candidate will be responsible for creating and sustaining a welcoming customer experience as the first point of contact for library visitors. You will greet new customers, orient them to library services and policies, provide information and assistance, receive and process payments, and resolve issues with customer accounts.

As a Customer Service Associate, you are also responsible for:

Providing customer assistance in accessing and navigating the library’s website, online catalogue, digital content and mobile apps;
Assisting customers in using self-service checkout machines, copiers, printers, self-service payment and other library equipment;
Performing general tasks to keep the library orderly, well-equipped and prepared for opening and closing;
Supporting materials handling, acquisitions and collection management functions as required; and
Promoting library services.

Qualifications

Completion of Grade 12 supplemented by completion of Library Technician or other relevant courses, plus some experience in library work, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Salary:

$28.37 – $33.25/hour (pay grade 14; 2024 rates) + benefits

Schedule:

Sunday – 9:45 a.m. – 5:15 p.m.

Monday – 4:15 – 9:15 p.m.

Tuesday – 1 – 5 p.m.

Wednesday – 1 – 5 p.m.

Thursday – 5:15 – 9:15 p.m.

Schedules are reviewed periodically and subject to change with minimum two weeks’ notice. Evenings and

weekends are required.

Closing date:

July 26, 2026 at 5 p.m.
