Career Contacts is a fractional human resources and recruitment consulting firm, supporting companies throughout Canada and the US.

We provide support with permanent placements, temporary staffing, executive searches, HR consulting, and payroll management. We manage all phases of sourcing, screening, selection, and onboarding and retaining.

Career Contacts is supporting our client in the search for a Payroll & Benefits Administrator to join their team on a part-time, permanent basis. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced payroll professional who enjoys managing end-to-end payroll processes, benefits administration, and supporting broader HR initiatives.

The successful candidate will bring strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and hands-on experience with payroll systems, employee benefits, and HR administration. Experience with Dayforce is highly preferred.

Start Date: Immediate
Job Type: Part-time, permanent
Hours: 15–20 hours per week, Monday to Friday (daytime availability required; flexible schedule)
Location: Richmond, BC (hybrid model with 1–2 days on-site per week)
Compensation: $28–$35 per hour, based on experience

Responsibilities:

Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and efficiently while ensuring compliance with applicable federal and provincial regulations
Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data within Dayforce
Administer employee benefits programs, including group benefits and pension plans
Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll, benefits, and HR policies
Support onboarding and offboarding activities, including documentation and employee orientations
Prepare payroll reports and assist with audits and year-end processes
Ensure compliance with employment standards, payroll legislation, and internal policies
Provide support on various HR initiatives, including employee records management and administrative projects

Requirements:

3+ years of experience in payroll and HR administration
Strong experience processing Canadian payroll
Proficiency with Dayforce HRIS is required
Experience administering employee benefits and pension plans
Strong understanding of Canadian payroll legislation and employment standards
Experience working in a unionized environment is an asset
General accounting knowledge related to payroll processes
Advanced attention to detail and ability to handle confidential employee information
Strong organizational and communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications
