Job Summary

We are seeking one passionate and dedicated Hairstylist, and one diligent and motivated Apprentice to work closely with our existing Master Hairstylist. Located in a beautiful location with high visibility, Veltori Hair & Aesthetics prides itself on delivering high-quality aesthetics services and helping the customer embrace the beauty within.

The potential Hairstylist can expect to find a classy, welcoming, and supportive environment that's easy to call home, so you can seamlessly transition in and continue to deliver the exceptional hair services your clients know and love you for. Likewise, the Apprentice position is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring stylist to develop their skills with hands-on experience under professional mentorship. Ideal candidates should be honest, have excellent customer service skills, and be able to work well with others in a team-first mindset.

Whether you are an experienced stylist or just starting your career as an apprentice, each position provides a supportive environment to grow your expertise and build lasting client relationships.

Requirements

- Licensed Hairstylists must have a clientele and a minimum of five years' experience.

Hairstylist must have enrolled in and completed a Ministry-approved hairstyling diploma program at a registered institution, fulfilled a minimum of 2000 work hours in an apprenticeship position, hold a valid Certificate of Qualification in hairstyling, and be on the Skilled Trades Ontario Public Register. Barbering experience is an asset, but not required.

Apprentice must have enrolled in and/or completed a Ministry-approved hairstyling diploma program at a registered institution.

Duties

- Perform professional hairdressing services including cuts, colour, treatments, and styling according to client preferences

- Assist senior stylists with various salon tasks and learn advanced techniques through hands-on experience

- Maintain high standards of sanitation and overall cleanliness in all work areas, tools, and equipment

- Provide outstanding customer service by engaging with clients, understanding their needs, and offering personalized recommendations

- Upsell retail products and additional services to enhance client satisfaction, extend longevity of results achieved at the salon, and boost salon revenue

- Manage front desk responsibilities such as scheduling appointments, answering the phone, checking in clients, and handling payments

- Build loyalty and strong relationships with clients to encourage repeat business and positive reviews

- Stay updated on the latest hair trends, techniques, and salon industry developments

Skills

- Excellent customer service and communication skills to create a welcoming environment for clients

- Proficiency in hair styling techniques including cutting, colouring, and styling tools

- Knowledge of sanitation procedures to ensure a safe and hygienic salon environment

- Ability to upsell retail products effectively while maintaining genuine client relationships

- Strong interpersonal skills with the capacity to work collaboratively within a team setting

- Eagerness to learn and grow professionally as an apprentice or seasoned stylist

- Ability to provide men's hair styling including fades/tapers, shaves, buzz cuts, and beard lineups/trims would be an asset

- Retail sales experience is a plus for promoting products and services

- Front desk experience is beneficial for managing appointments and client interactions

Pay

Choose the payment arrangement that works best for you -- hourly wage, commission, a combination, or chair rental. Rates are negotiable.
