Full job description

POSITION SUMMARY:

Execute mechanical activities relating to construction and fabrication of Stainless-Steel piping systems, structural frames, equipment, maintenance, and repair of equipment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Comply with and promote awareness of the Turnkey Modular Systems' Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality policies, and procedures.
Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
Set up components and/or structures for polishing according to drawings and/or specifications (surface finish requirements).
Polish, grind or cut materials using angle grinders, air polishing tools, and sanding tools as required.
Perform mechanical installation and related maintenance work as required.
On occasion perform off-site re-assembly, installation, modification, or other related assignments.
Where required, maintain records on jobs.
Inspect work to ensure compliance with standard procedures and assignments.
Organize daily tasks and follow supervisor requests to ensure production needs are met.
Assist in coordinating job work with other disciplines, (e.g., other polishers, fitters, welders, electricians, testing, etc.).
Take part in developmental and training programs.
Participate with team to implement continuous improvement activities.
Any other activities required as directed by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have Experience with polishing of steel materials.
Experience with Stainless Steel Hollow structural, TIG welded pipe, Heat Stain removal from orbital and manual TIG welding would be an asset.
Experience with Biotech/Pharmaceutical equipment or piping systems would be an asset.

KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

Polishers
Fitter/Welders

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Dusty environment.
Must be able to work standing up for entire shift.
Must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
Must be capable of operating polishing equipment or grinder for entire shift.
Must be capable of working at heights.
Overtime, weekends may be required.
Required to use safety and personal protective equipment when on the production floor.
