Full job description

We are looking for a reliable and self-motivated Plant Custodian to maintain cleanliness and sanitation in all non-production areas of our facility. This role also includes responsibility for laundering personal protective equipment (PPE) used throughout the plant. The ideal candidate takes pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized environment in a food production setting.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Cleaning & Sanitation

Clean and sanitize non-production areas, including offices, hallways, washrooms, lunchroom, laundry room, stairwells, common areas, and outside trailer.
Sweep, mop, vacuum, and disinfect surfaces as required.

Laundry & PPE Handling

Wash, dry, fold, and organize PPE (e.g., smocks, gloves, etc.).
Monitor inventory of clean garments and report shortages.

General Maintenance & Support

Empty garbage and recycling bins and ensure proper disposal.
Restock supplies (soap, paper towels, toilet paper, PPE, etc.).
Identify and report maintenance issues (e.g., leaks, damaged fixtures).
Maintain cleanliness and organization of laundry areas.
Follow all safety and sanitation procedures in a food facility.
Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

Previous cleaning or janitorial experience preferred (industrial or food facility experience is an asset).
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. and perform physical tasks (standing, bending, lifting).
Reliable and punctual.

Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
