NEW BAR OPENING — JUNE/JULY 2026

We're opening our doors in Calgary this June/July and building the founding service team. Get in on the ground floor.

About Us

Born and bred in Vancouver’s vibrant Mount Pleasant neighborhood, Mount Pleasant Vintage & Provisions is officially making the leap and expanding to Calgary!

We are a cocktail bar disguised as a postmodern thrift shop — part industrial warehouse, part breezy patio, all retro-cool. We pour an ever-rotating list of forward-thinking cocktails, fire up an Argentinian-style wood and charcoal grill, and treat hospitality like it matters. Because it does. We’re thrilled to bring our unique blend of nostalgia and high-energy hospitality to a whole new city.

The Role

We're hiring a Server who knows their way around a busy floor and gets a kick out of guiding guests through a menu they're going to remember. You'll work a section, run drinks and food, talk cocktails like you mean it, and own every table from the first hello to the last goodbye. We move fast, we care about the details, and we'd rather have a great teammate than a great resume.

What You'll Do

Own Your Section: Run a section with confidence — read tables, time courses, and keep guests one step ahead of needing anything.
Talk Food & Drink: Know the cocktail list cold (we'll teach you), describe dishes off the wood grill with real curiosity, and make solid pairing recommendations.
Stay in Sync: Take orders accurately, fire them through the POS, and keep the floor, kitchen, and the bar aligned.
Handle the Room: Manage guest feedback gracefully — read the room, fix the issue, and loop in a manager when it matters.
Keep it Clean: Keep your section, the service stations, and the bar pass clean and stocked through the shift.
Cash Out: Process payments accurately, manage your cash-out, and tip out support staff fairly.
Pitch In: Help out with opening setups, side work, and closing breakdowns — we all leave when the work is done.

Who You Are

Experienced: 1+ year of serving experience in a restaurant or bar — you've worked a section before and you know the rhythm.
Calm Under Fire: A 6-top walks in at 9 PM and you don't flinch.
A Great Communicator: Clear, warm, and zero drama with guests, kitchen, and bar.
Genuinely Curious: You don't have to be a sommelier; you do have to want to learn about food and drinks.
Available Nights & Weekends: Most shifts are Wednesday through Sunday, 4 PM to close.
Physically Able: You can be on your feet for long shifts and confidently carry trays.
18+ (Required in Alberta to serve alcohol).

Required

Valid ProServe certification before your first shift (Alberta law).

Nice to Have

Experience in a craft cocktail bar or chef-driven kitchen.
Familiarity with reservation and POS systems (OpenTable, Resy, Tock; TouchBistro, Squirrel, Lightspeed).
Wine/spirits knowledge — WSET, Sommelier coursework, BarSmarts, or just a stack of well-read books.
