Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant/Bookkeeper to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing comprehensive accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial record-keeping, and supporting financial reporting processes. This role requires proficiency with various accounting software and a strong understanding of corporate finance principles. The Senior Accountant/Bookkeeper will play a vital role in maintaining the integrity of our financial data and supporting strategic decision-making.

Duties

Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure timely payments and collections
Perform account reconciliations, including bank reconciliation, to verify accuracy of financial data
Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, and AccountEdge for daily bookkeeping tasks
Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly
Assist with budgeting, financial reporting, and auditing activities to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations
Process payroll accurately using relevant payroll systems and ensure proper documentation
Maintain organized financial records and prepare detailed reports for management review
Support month-end and year-end closing procedures with attention to detail
Collaborate with internal teams to improve accounting processes and implement best practices

Qualifications

Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles, preferably in a corporate finance environment
Strong proficiency with accounting software including QuickBooks
Knowledge of account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, payroll processing, and account analysis
Familiarity with auditing procedures and financial services industry standards is a plus
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Relevant certifications or degrees in Accounting, Finance, or related fields are preferred
