Full job description

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Construction Estimator to lead both pre-construction and project execution for custom residential new home builds. This role requires a professional with a strong background in high-value custom homes capable of managing project estimation from initial estimating through procurement.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience estimating and managing custom homes valued at $2M+.

Key Responsibilities

Estimating

Prepare detailed and accurate material and labor estimates
Custom single-family homes ($2M+ value)
Analyze architectural drawings, specifications, and project scope
Perform quantity takeoffs and cost analysis
Negotiate pricing from subcontractors and suppliers
Develop and maintain budgets throughout pre-construction phases
Prepare and submit bid proposals for new projects
Price and manage change orders
Manage full lifecycle of residential construction project estimation and procurement
Issue and administer subcontracts and purchase orders
Coordinate material procurement and scheduling
Oversee project budgets, cost tracking, and financial reporting
Review and process submittals and construction documentation
Communicate regularly with leadership, providing updates on cost and progress
Ensure compliance with local building codes, regulations, and quality standards

Required Qualifications

Minimum 6+ years of experience in residential construction estimating
Proven experience estimating and/or managing custom homes valued at $2M+ (required)
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and cost structures
Excellent budgeting, and cost-control skills
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication and leadership skills
High attention to detail and strong analytical abilities

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in Manitoba
Must have over 6+ years of experience in residential estimating
Formal education or certification in Construction Management or a related field
