Kemlee Equipment Ltd. is a family-owned equipment dealership proudly serving the Kootenays for over 45 years. We represent trusted product lines including Kubota, Stihl, Husqvarna, and other equipment brands that support homeowners, acreage owners, contractors, municipalities, landscapers, and commercial customers throughout the region.
We are looking for a dependable, safety-conscious and mechanically inclined individual to join our Creston team as an Equipment Delivery Driver & Yard Operations employee.
Position Overview
The primary responsibility of this position is to safely deliver and pick up equipment throughout Kemlee Equipment’s territory.
This includes delivering newly purchased equipment, picking up customer equipment for service or repairs, returning completed service equipment and transporting equipment between dealerships, suppliers and Kemlee locations.
The position may involve transporting tractors, excavators, skid steers, utility vehicles, turf equipment, trailers, attachments and other products sold or serviced by Kemlee Equipment.
This is also a customer-facing position. The driver will regularly represent Kemlee Equipment at customer homes, farms, businesses and jobsites. The successful applicant must communicate professionally, remain calm when situations do not go as planned and involve a Sales or Service Manager when a customer concern is outside their authority.
When deliveries and pickups are not scheduled, the employee will assist with yard organization, equipment movement, shipping and receiving, equipment preparation and general dealership support.
Responsibilities
- Safely deliver and pick up equipment
- Pick up customer equipment for service, repairs and warranty work
- Return serviced equipment to customer locations
- Load, unload and properly secure equipment, attachments and trailers
- Inspect trucks, trailers, equipment and loads before travelling
- Document the visible condition of equipment during pickups and deliveries
- Complete delivery, pickup and inspection paperwork
- Communicate arrival times and delivery details with customers and dealership staff
- Represent Kemlee Equipment professionally at customer locations
- Handle customer questions or concerns calmly and respectfully
- Contact a manager when a situation requires additional assistance
- Organize and move equipment within the dealership yard
- Assist with shipping and receiving
- Prepare equipment for delivery, display or customer pickup
- Help keep equipment, delivery vehicles, trailers and work areas clean and presentable
- Complete basic fuel, fluid, tire and visible-condition checks
- Assist with minor truck, trailer and equipment maintenance
- Assist with snow removal, groundskeeping and general property maintenance
- Help with dealership event setup, takedown and equipment transportation
- Support the Sales and Service departments as required
Required Qualifications
- Valid BC Class 5 driver’s license with a Heavy Trailer Endorsement—Code 20—or a valid Class 1 or Class 3 driver’s license
- Class 1 or Class 3 license holders are encouraged to apply
- Air-brake endorsement is not required
- Clean driving record
- Ability to provide a satisfactory current driver’s abstract
- Experience operating a pickup truck and equipment trailer
- Understanding of safe towing, weight distribution and load securement
- Ability to safely load and unload equipment
- Strong customer-service and communication skills
- Ability to remain professional during challenging customer interactions
- Dependable, punctual and able to work independently
- Comfortable travelling throughout the Kootenays and to other locations in British Columbia and Alberta
- Able to work a flexible schedule based on delivery and pickup requirements
- Able to safely complete the physical duties of the position
Preferred Experience
Experience in any of the following areas would be considered an asset:
- Heavy equipment or agricultural equipment
- Truck and equipment-trailer operation
- Equipment delivery or commercial driving
- Loading and securing machinery
- Vehicle, trailer or equipment maintenance
- Shipping and receiving
- Forklift operation
- Yard, warehouse or inventory organization
- Construction, farming, landscaping or equipment dealership work
Training may be provided to the right candidate who meets the licensing requirements and demonstrates strong judgment, mechanical ability and customer-service skills.
Physical and Working Conditions
The successful applicant must be comfortable:
- Working outdoors in changing weather conditions
- Driving for extended periods
- Climbing onto trucks, trailers and equipment
- Handling chains, binders, straps, ramps and tools
- Bending, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling and lifting
- Operating tractors, construction equipment, forklifts and other machinery
- Working independently at customer homes, farms, businesses and jobsites
- Completing occasional extended-distance or overnight trips
Schedule
This is a full-time, permanent position averaging approximately 40 hours per week.
The schedule is not limited to fixed Monday-to-Friday daytime hours. Some deliveries and pickups may require early-morning departures, later-afternoon or evening returns and occasional overnight travel.
Longer days may be balanced by shorter workdays or early departures when operational requirements allow.
The position will operate under a written averaging agreement in accordance with applicable British Columbia employment standards. Overtime will be paid where required.
Compensation and Benefits
- Starting wage of $27.00 per hour
- Wage may increase to as much as $30.00 per hour after successful completion of the 90-day probationary period
- Starting wage and any increase following probation will be based on experience, licensing, qualifications, demonstrated abilities and overall suitability for the position

This is an hourly position, and actual earnings will depend on hours worked and applicable overtime.
