Job Summary

We are seeking a Junior Accountant to be part of our Finance team at our Head Office location.

This role will work closely with Sales, Operations, and Inventory team as a key member of our Finance Team. In this position, you will be working with the lead financial accountants in one of our three main divisions (Lubricants, Supply Chains Logistics and Ships) as well as assisting with several stream-line improvement projects within the Finance Team. You will be responsible for completing month end processes and maintaining supporting schedules. We encourage cross-training to promote diversity and growth within the company.

Duties and Responsibilities

Financial statement preparation
Month end adjusting journal entries
Daily reconciliation and accounting tasks
Ensure all relevant financial information is entered into the GL on a timely basis
Provide leadership and guidance to Billing, AP, and Sales
Provide job and operating costing
Budget preparation
Providing reconciliations and supporting schedules, investigate variances
Complete government remittance (Sales tax returns, EHC, Fuel tax)
Communicate and work directly with manager on year end audit duties
Liaise with auditors, government, and other stakeholders
Preparing ad hoc analysis to the Finance and Operations managers

Qualifications

Possess a post-secondary education, specializing in accounting or commerce
Possess or be on track to get an accounting designation (CPA)
Possess a minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a financial environment
Be proficient in Excel, Crystal Reports, SAP, and Microsoft Office 365
Have experienced with cloud-based accounting
