Location: Head Office – Chemainus, BC

Compensation: $23–$26/hour, depending on experience

The company plays a key role in the reliable movement of freight to and from Vancouver Island, as well as supporting customers across North America through dependable execution and strong industry relationships.

Role Overview

Jerry’s Transport Ltd. is looking for a detail-oriented and organized Dispatch Assistant / Data Entry to support the day-to-day operations of the dispatch and logistics team. This role is a key part of keeping freight moving smoothly, ensuring load and driver information is accurate, records are up to date, and communication between drivers, customers, and internal teams runs without gaps.

This position is well suited to someone who is calm under pressure, comfortable managing competing priorities, and takes real ownership over the accuracy of their work. The Dispatch Assistant works closely with the dispatch, accounting, and operations teams and plays a hands-on role in keeping daily workflows on track.

Key Responsibilities

Data Entry & Load Management

· Enter and update load information, driver details, and delivery data accurately and in a timely manner in company systems

· Verify PODs, invoices, rate confirmations, and shipping documents for accuracy and completeness

· Ensure all records, both digital and physical, are maintained in an organized and consistent manner

Dispatch Support

· Assist the dispatch team with scheduling pickups and deliveries

· Track shipments and provide timely updates to customers as required

· Support drivers with appointment details, paperwork requirements, and day-to-day updates

Driver & Customer Communication

· Communicate clearly and professionally with drivers regarding scheduling, paperwork, and any changes to their loads

· Respond to customer inquiries related to shipment status and delivery updates

· Flag discrepancies or issues to the appropriate team members promptly

Administrative & Cross-Team Support

· Provide administrative support to the accounting and operations teams as needed

· Assist with document management, filing, and record-keeping across departments

· Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

· Previous experience in a dispatch, logistics, or data entry role is preferred

· Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; comfortable working with spreadsheets on a daily basis

· Experience with Truck Mate is a strong asset

· High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all data entry tasks

· Effective verbal and written communication skills

· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
