Overview

We are seeking a friendly and motivated Hair Salon Assistant to join our dynamic team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience in the beauty industry, develop customer service skills, and work in a vibrant, fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about hair styling, dedicated to providing exceptional client experiences, and eager to learn about salon operations. This position is perfect for individuals interested in building a career in cosmetology or retail sales within a professional salon setting.

Responsibilities

Greet clients warmly and ensure they feel welcomed upon arrival
Assist stylists with preparing clients for services, including shampooing and setting up styling tools
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations, tools, and common areas according to health standards
Support stylists during hair treatments by passing tools and assisting with product application as needed
Upsell retail products by recommending suitable hair care items to clients
Manage front desk duties such as scheduling appointments, checking in clients, and handling payments
Provide excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries and ensuring a positive salon experience
Restock supplies regularly to ensure the salon remains well-equipped for daily operations

Requirements

Strong customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
Basic knowledge of hair styling techniques is a plus but not required; willingness to learn is essential
Ability to maintain high standards of sanitation and cleanliness in a salon environment
Effective communication skills to interact with clients and team members clearly and professionally
Experience in retail sales or upselling is desirable but not mandatory; training will be provided
Front desk experience or familiarity with appointment scheduling systems is advantageous
Ability to work well in a team setting and handle multiple tasks efficiently
Flexibility to work during salon hours, including weekends if needed

Pay: $13.50-$20.00 per hour
