Full-Time Project Coordinator

Location: St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada

Sharing Our Cultures Incorporated is seeking a compassionate, culturally responsive, and motivated professional to join our team as a Full-Time Project Coordinator for the RISE Project.

The RISE Project is a community-based initiative focused on supporting vulnerable and racialized youth aged 12–24 through trauma-informed, culturally responsive programming designed to prevent youth involvement in crime and violence. The project works closely with schools, community organizations, families, and law enforcement to build resilience, strengthen life skills, and foster positive community engagement.

Position Summary

The Project Coordinator will coordinate all aspects of the RISE Project while providing direct support to youth participants and their families. The successful candidate will play a key role in intake screening, case planning, referrals, mentorship, and participant engagement.

Key Responsibilities

● Coordinate daily operations and programming for the RISE Project

● Conduct intake interviews, screening, and needs assessments

● Develop individualized case plans and monitor participant progress

● Provide trauma-informed and culturally responsive guidance and support

● Facilitate youth workshops, group discussions, and engagement activities

● Connect participants with wraparound services and community supports

● Collaborate with schools, community agencies, and project partners

● Support family engagement and communication

● Maintain participant documentation and confidential case files

● Lead outreach, recruitment, reporting, and evaluation activities

● Other related duties

Qualifications

● Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Counselling, Psychology, Education or a related field ● Professional designation preferred

● Experience working with youth, newcomers, refugees, or marginalized populations ● Strong understanding of trauma-informed and culturally responsive practices

● Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills

● Ability to work collaboratively with community partners and multidisciplinary teams

● Bilingualism in English and French is strongly preferred

● Valid Criminal Record Screening and Vulnerable Sector Check required

Position Details

● Full-time position (8 months with possibility of extension) - 35/hrs week

● Renumeration: $25/hour

● Location: St. John’s - Sharing Our Cultures site, 390 Elizabeth Avenue

● Start date: August 3, 2026

Celui-ci est une initiative communautaire qui vise à réduire la criminalité et la violence parmi les jeunes vulnérables et racisés de 12 à 24 ans en leur offrant une programmation qui tient compte des traumatismes et qui est adaptée à la culture. L’équipe du projet travaille en étroite collaboration avec les écoles, les organismes communautaires et la police pour favoriser la résilience, renforcer les compétences fondamentales et encourager une implication positive chez les jeunes.

Résumé du poste

La coordinatrice ou le coordinateur de projet sera responsable de coordonner tous les aspects du projet et de fournir un soutien direct aux jeunes et à leurs familles. La personne retenue jouera un rôle central dans les processus d’accueil, de sélection, de planification, d’acheminement, de mentorat et de participation.

Principales responsabilités

Coordonner les activités quotidiennes et la programmation du projet
Effectuer les entrevues d’accueil, la sélection des participantes et participants, ainsi que l’évaluation des besoins
Développer des plans d’intervention individualisés et suivre le cheminement des jeunes Fournir un accompagnement qui tient compte des traumatismes et qui est adapté à la culture
Animer des ateliers, des discussions de groupe et des activités visant à susciter la participation
Acheminer les jeunes vers les services spécialisés et les soutiens communautaires
Collaborer avec les écoles, les agences communautaires et les partenaires du projet
Favoriser la participation des familles et assurer la communication avec elles
Tenir les dossiers des participantes et participants en assurant la confidentialité des renseignements
Mener les activités de sensibilisation, de recrutement, de reddition de comptes et d’évaluation Autres tâches connexes

Exigences

Baccalauréat en travail social, en orientation, en psychologie, en éducation ou dans un domaine connexe
Titre professionnel (un atout)
Expérience de travail avec les jeunes, les nouveaux arrivants, les réfugiés ou les populations marginalisées
Bonne compréhension des pratiques tenant compte des traumatismes et adaptées à la culture Très bonnes compétences interpersonnelles, organisationnelles et de communication Aptitude au travail collaboratif avec les partenaires communautaires et les équipes multidisciplinaires Bilinguisme français-anglais (un atout majeur)
Vérification du casier judiciaire et vérification de l’habilitation à travailler auprès de personnes vulnérables
