About Us

Mushroom Producers Co-operative Inc. is a farmer-owned co-operative that produces high-quality compost and growing media for commercial mushroom production. Our agricultural facility supports mushroom farms across Ontario by delivering consistent, reliable products while maintaining the highest standards for safety, quality, and environmental stewardship.

Join Our Team

We are looking for a motivated, hands-on Supervisor, Phase I to join our operations team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong farming background who enjoys leading people, solving problems, and working in a fast-paced agricultural environment.

The successful candidate will have previous farming experience, proven leadership skills, and the ability to keep production running safely and efficiently. If you are mechanically inclined, enjoy working outdoors and around equipment, and are looking to build a long-term career in agriculture, we would like to hear from you.

Permanent, full-time position
Hours may vary based on operational requirements
Overtime may be required during busy production periods

Position Summary

The Supervisor, Phase I is responsible for overseeing the daily production process, supervising a team of employees, coordinating repairs and maintenance, and ensuring production goals are achieved safely and efficiently. This role plays a key part in minimizing downtime while maintaining quality and safety standards throughout the operation.

What You Will Do

Supervise daily production activities to ensure equipment, machinery, and materials are operating efficiently and production standards are met.
Coordinate work assignments, provide training, and support farm employees in the safe operation of equipment and completion of daily tasks.
Organize production materials and report any discrepancies to the General Manager.
Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, production records, and quality control documentation.
Monitor employee performance and ensure all safety and production procedures are followed.
Perform routine maintenance on equipment or coordinate servicing to minimize downtime.
Ensure equipment and machinery are cleaned and sanitized on a regular basis.
Promote and enforce farm safety and biosecurity practices.
Assist with other duties as required to support the operation.

What You Bring

High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of three years of experience operating and maintaining a farming operation is required.
Previous supervisory or team leadership experience is preferred.
Strong mechanical aptitude with excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment.
Commitment to workplace safety, quality, and teamwork.

Working Conditions

Physically demanding agricultural environment.
Long periods operating equipment and handling materials.
Repetitive tasks and extended periods of standing.
Early morning starts and variable work hours.
Overtime may be required.
