Community Associate - Downtown Toronto (Full-Time, On-site, Front Desk)
Location: Downtown Toronto Company: Workhaus Website: www.workhaus.ca
This is an evergreen role. With our Toronto footprint expanding we are consistently reviewing candidates for a future full-time Community Associate to join our team at one of our Toronto locations.
This isn’t your standard Community Associate role, just like we are not your standard coworking operator. Workhaus was created to be a people & community first company with the mission “to have everyone excited to go to work everyday.” That sentiment extends beyond our members. Our mission isn't complete unless our team feels equally supported, with opportunities to grow and develop, the chance to work alongside genuinely kind people, and meaningful, rewarding projects that keep every day engaging and far removed from the monotony of a traditional office job.
Fun projects like surprising members with a lipsync battle party that could rival Jimmy Kimmel, taking a member/team member out for a lunch or coffee, playing cornhole, organizing a hula hoop competition in the office, coordinating occasional Monday mimosas, you name it. ou will be part of the driving force that ensures everyone enjoys coming into work each day with your creativity, love of elevated customer service and chit chat, and attention to detail.
About Workhaus
Founded in Toronto in 2015 we now have 12 spaces in 3 Canadian Cities, including 10 in Toronto. Our spaces are designed to foster innovation, collaboration, and productivity... And our community is curated to reflect that. We offer the best of both worlds: the professionalism of a corporate office and the energy of a startup, creating a home for a thriving and diverse community of professionals and businesses across a wide range of industries.
What We Do
Workhaus is a Canadian coworking company offering flexible private and shared workspaces, best-in-class amenities, and community-driven programming that supports both personal and professional growth. Our membersrange from solo founders to Fortune 500 companies - and they all value one thing: a better way to work, meet, and connect.
Our Mission
To have everyone excited to go to work. Every day.
Our Values
- Be a good member of the community
- Never cease to learn
- Strive for excellence
- Love what you do and where you do it
About the Role: Community Associate
This is a people-first, hospitality-forward role where no two days are exactly the same. As the face of the space, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our members feel welcomed, supported, and excited to be part of the Workhaus community. So much so that they won't want to leave for another space.
In fact, most of our members have been with us for years, some as far back as the year we opened, 2015.
This role is perfect for someone who thrives in dynamic environments, loves building relationships, and takes pride in going above and beyond to support others. This is not a role for someone who likes to sit on the sidelines or do administrative work all day in a quiet office.
What You’ll Do
- Be the friendly face that greets all members and guests, providing a concierge-like experience at the front desk
- Maintain a tidy, welcoming workspace including boardrooms, kitchens, and lounges
- Set up new member offices (rearranging light furniture as needed)
- Monitor and manage office supplies and inventory
- Respond to member questions, troubleshoot issues, and ensure a seamless daily experience
- Tour workspaces to potential new members
- Act as a connector - learn about our members and help create meaningful connections within the community
- Represent and promote the Workhaus mission and values daily
- Organize and host events, meetups, and networking events
- Attend team meetings and contribute to a positive, collaborative team culture
- Identify any ongoing location issues and escalate to the appropriate point of contact
What We’re Looking For
First and foremost, you’re a people person. You care about the details, and you genuinely enjoy creating connections with others. You’re proactive, resourceful, and bring a sense of calm even on the busiest days.
You’ll thrive in this role if you have:
- Experience in customer service, hospitality, front desk, or similar roles
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- A warm, professional demeanor with a positive attitude
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities
- Strong problem solving skills with a proactive approach
- A team-player mindset
- A warm personality that fits right in with our kind, collaborative, and supportive team
- A strong sense of independence and ownership
- The ability to connect with anyone
- Passion for creating great experiences and building community - no one knows your community better than you!
- The ability to mediate between stakeholders and deescalate situations that may arise in a shared space
- The ability keep a calm demeanor when unpredicted circumstances pop up
Bonus points if you have:
- Familiarity with tools like Slack, Asana, and Google Workspace
- A diploma or degree in Business Administration, Hospitality, or a related field (not required)
