Cashier/Customer Service Hiring

MaKaam Modern Artisan Thai is looking for a passionate, reliable, and hardworking Wok Cook / Line Cook to join our kitchen team at Time Out Market Vancouver. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and take pride in preparing high-quality food with consistency and care, we'd love to hear from you.

Position Type

Full-time or Part-time
Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Immediate start available

Working Hours:

Shifts vary based on business needs and may include morning (10 am), evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Salary: Starting $19 + Tips / hour

Key Responsibilities

Greet customers warmly and provide a friendly, welcoming experience
Handle credit, debit, and other payment transactions accurately
Operate POS system and ensure correct billing
Issue receipts, refunds, or change when needed
Assist customers with inquiries, orders, and general support
Ensure cleanliness and organization of cashier area
Coordinate with kitchen/service team to ensure smooth order flow
Handle customer complaints professionally and escalate when necessary
Follow company policies for payment handling and service standards
Support basic upselling and promote menu items when appropriate
Follow health, sanitation, and food safety regulations at all times.
Support opening/ closing duties and assist team members during busy service periods.

Requirements & QualificationsExperience

Previous experience in Thai, Asian, or high-volume restaurant kitchens preferred.
Understanding of kitchen workflow and fast-paced service environments.

Skills & Abilities

Strong multitasking and time management skills.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Attention to detail and commitment to food allergies and quality.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand for extended periods.
Able to lift up to 40 lbs.
Comfortable working in fast-paced environment.

Personal Qualities

Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Punctual, dependable, and responsible.
Willingness to learn and improve.
Team-oriented mindset.
