Full job description

NutraSun Foods is currently seeking a dependable, self-motivated individual to join our team as a Sanitation/Laborer at our plant in Regina, SK. Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, key areas of responsibility include:

Key Responsibilities:

Perform sanitation of interior and exterior plant areas, including mill, warehouse, boiler rooms, grain receiving, bathrooms, lunchroom and common areas
Follow all food safety, GMP, HACCP, and Quality Assurance requirements
Complete daily sanitation checklists, logs, and required documentation accurately and on time
Execute tasks outlined in the master sanitation schedule, including deep cleaning and preventative sanitation
Wear, use, and maintain required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times
Identify and report sanitation issues, equipment damage, or food safety concerns to the appropriate member of the management team
Assist with corrective actions as required
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Follow all workplace safety policies
Support Quality Assurance audits, trailer inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives
Conduct regular inventory counts of sanitation items, PPE supplies and prepare list for restocking
Safely perform snow removal activities which will include manual shoveling and the use of a snow blower
Perform weed whacking and basic grounds maintenance as needed
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Previous sanitation or food manufacturing experience preferred
Knowledge of food safety practices, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and sanitation procedures
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Ability to work safely while wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Strong attention to detail to ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards
Ability to complete sanitation records, checklists, and documentation accurately
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, including collaboration with Quality Assurance/Production personnel, supporting colleagues and maintaining a positive work environment
Physically able to perform sanitation duties, including standing for long periods, lifting, bending, shoveling and working in dusty or cold environments
Commitment to workplace safety and food safety culture
Ability to lift to 60 lbs.
