Company Description :

The Black Community Resource Centre (BCRC) is a charitable organization dedicated to empowering Montreal’s Black communities through education, advocacy, research, and community-based programs. BCRC supports English-speaking Black youth and families by promoting leadership, inclusion, and equitable access to opportunities.

Project Summary:

The Black Community Resource Centre (BCRC) is seeking a skilled and community‑rooted Program Coordinator to lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of its Intergenerational Health and Social Services Program. This program supports Black seniors, adults, youth, and families by improving access to culturally responsive health and social services, strengthening intergenerational connections, and addressing systemic barriers such as anti‑Black racism, social isolation, and inequitable access to care. The Program Coordinator plays a central role in translating BCRC’s mission into high‑impact programming by working closely with community members, partner organizations, health and social service providers, and internal staff. The role requires strong coordination, relationship‑building, and administrative skills, as well as a deep understanding of equity‑based, anti‑racist, and culturally responsive approaches.

Key Responsibilities: Program Coordination & Implementation:

Program Planning & Coordination

Coordinate the day‑to‑day implementation of the Intergenerational Health and Social Services Program, ensuring activities align with program goals, funding requirements, and BCRC’s strategic priorities.

Community Engagement & Outreach

Build and maintain strong, trusting relationships with Black community members across generations, including seniors, caregivers, youth, and families.
Conduct outreach to increase awareness of available health and social services and reduce barriers to access.
Ensure programming is culturally relevant, trauma‑informed, and responsive to community‑identified needs.
Support the meaningful inclusion of community voices in program design, delivery, and evaluation.

Partnerships & Stakeholder Collaboration

Coordinate and liaise with key partners, including health institutions, social service agencies, community‑based organizations, and public sector stakeholders.
Organize and participate in partnership and community meetings, case coordination discussions, and collaborative planning sessions.
Support referral networks and service navigation pathways for program participants.

Administration & Reporting

Maintain accurate program records, participant data (in line with confidentiality and privacy standards), and activity documentation.
Contribute to funder reports, internal reports, and evaluation summaries by tracking outputs, outcomes, and lessons learned.
Assist with budget tracking related to program activities and flag any variances or needs.
Support compliance with funder, organizational, and regulatory requirements.
Maintain accurate records related to volunteer and intern participation, including hours, roles, supervision notes, and learning outcomes, in accordance with organizational and funder requirements.

Equity, Anti‑Racism & Organizational Values

Integrate anti‑Black racism, equity, and culturally responsive principles into all aspects of program coordination.
Support BCRC’s broader organizational initiatives related to advocacy, community education, and systems change.
Uphold BCRC’s values of respect, accountability, collaboration, and community empowerment.
Develop and maintain detailed work plans, timelines, and activity schedules.
Coordinate intergenerational activities, including workshops, information sessions, community dialogues, outreach initiatives, and referral pathways.
Support the integration of innovative approaches (e.g., digital tools, VR learning, community forums) where applicable.
Recruit, onboard, schedule, and supervise program volunteers and interns in collaboration with BCRC leadership.
Provide orientation, training, and ongoing support to volunteers and interns to ensure alignment with program goals, community standards, and organizational policies.
Monitor volunteer and intern contributions, provide regular feedback, and support skill development, learning objectives, and performance improvement.

Qualifications:

Post‑secondary education in social work, community development, public health, human services, or a related field, or equivalent lived and professional experience.
Minimum 2–4 years of experience coordinating community‑based programs, preferably within health and/or social services.
Demonstrated experience working with Black communities and/or other equity‑deserving populations.
Deep understanding and empathy for vulnerable communities, including seniors and newcomers.
Strong knowledge of intergenerational issues, social determinants of health, and systemic inequities.
Excellent organizational, coordination, and time‑management skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Assets:

Experience working within Quebec’s health and social services system.
Knowledge of trauma‑informed, culturally responsive, and anti‑racist frameworks.
Experience coordinating partnerships and multi‑stakeholder initiatives.
Bilingualism (English and French) strongly preferred.
Experience with data collection, reporting, and basic program evaluation.

Working Conditions:

Hybrid work model combining in‑office collaboration, remote flexibility, and community‑based outreach.
Occasional evening or weekend activities may be required.
Travel within the Greater Montréal area.
