Term: Fixed-term contract, 12 months (Maternity leave)

Salary Range: $60,000 - $67,000

Location

This is a remote position, but if you’re local to Southern Ontario, we offer the option of a flexible hybrid work arrangement based in our Brantford, Ontario office. We have a preference for candidates who can primarily work within Eastern Standard Time (EST) hours to align with our core business operations.

What We Need

We are seeking a dynamic and versatile Temporary Copywriter and Content Specialist to cover a one-year maternity leave. In this cross-functional role, you will be instrumental in crafting compelling and engaging content that enhances brand awareness and attracts our target audience.

Your responsibilities will span across supporting our Marketing and Product teams, where you will create and review both short-form copy and long-form content. This includes writing for various marketing materials, managing our social media content for platforms like TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube, and assisting in the redesign and development of our online course curriculum. We are looking for someone who is not only a skilled writer but also has a keen understanding of different content formats and platforms, ensuring that our messaging is clear, consistent, and impactful across all channels.

What You’ll Do

Writing and Editing Copy for Marketing Materials

- Craft persuasive copy for email campaigns, websites, product descriptions, and promotional materials.
- Tailor content to resonate with our target audience and drive engagement.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to align narratives with our brand voice.
- Conduct research to understand audience needs and optimize content for SEO.
- Edit and proofread to ensure clarity, accuracy, and alignment with the company’s vision.
- Meet deadlines for writing, reviewing, and editing internal and external documents.

Writing Content for Social Media Platforms

- Create compelling scripts, captions, and content for TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube.
- Work with Digital Marketing Content Coordinators to ensure content aligns with overall strategy.
- Tailor content to platform-specific best practices to maximize engagement.
- Stay updated on social media trends and refine content based on performance metrics and feedback.

Assisting in Online Course and Curriculum Development

- Collaborate with subject matter experts to create and update course content.
- Develop materials like workbooks, multimedia content, and assessments to enhance learning.
- Ensure all content is clear, concise, and meets educational standards.
- Incorporate feedback to continuously improve the curriculum and create engaging scripts for lesson videos.

Prior Work Experience or Education:

- Bachelor’s degree in English, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications or training in Copywriting, Marketing, Advertising, or related disciplines.
- 3-5 years of professional experience as a Copywriter, ideally within a SaaS or technology-focused company, or within a marketing/advertising agency.
- Portfolio showcasing your writing skills, including diverse examples such as blog posts, email campaigns, product descriptions, and other relevant content.
