Prodigy Personnel is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Auto Body Prepper for our client located in Elmira ON. This position is responsible for preparing repaired large machinery pieces and parts for painting by sanding, masking, cleaning, and priming surfaces to ensure a high-quality finish. The ideal candidate takes pride in their workmanship, has a strong eye for detail, and enjoys working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.

Individuals with experience in auto body repair, automotive detailing, vehicle restoration, painting preparation, construction, manufacturing, or other skilled trades often excel in this role due to their experience with hand tools, surface preparation, and quality-focused workmanship

This is a full time position Monday to Friday from 7:00am - 3:30pm

Wage is negotiable based on experience

Duties

Sanding, grinding, and smoothing vehicle surfaces to prepare for painting or repairs
Using hand tools and power tools to remove rust, dents, or other surface imperfections
Assisting with heavy lifting of vehicle parts or panels as needed
Applying masking tape and paper to protect areas not being painted
Inspecting surfaces for defects and ensuring proper preparation standards are met
Maintaining a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency
Supporting the team with additional tasks related to vehicle prep and repair processes

Experience

Prior dealership experience is preferred but not required
Mechanical knowledge of automotive systems and repairs is advantageous
Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and automotive repair techniques
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
Experience working with automotive paint prep or bodywork is a plus
Mechanic experience or background in automotive repair will be highly regarded

This position requires a proactive individual with a strong work ethic who is eager to learn and grow within industry. Candidates should be comfortable working with various tools and equipment, maintaining safety standards, and contributing positively to a team environment.
