Position Summary

Viscor is seeking a skilled MIG/TIG Welder to support the fabrication of high-quality lighting fixtures and components. The successful candidate will have experience welding thin-gauge sheet metal, stainless steel, and aluminum, with a strong attention to detail and workmanship required for visible, finished products.

Key Responsibilities

Perform MIG and TIG welding on thin-gauge sheet metal components
Weld stainless steel and aluminum parts to tight tolerances and high cosmetic standards
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions
Set up welding equipment, select appropriate filler materials, and adjust settings as required
Inspect welds for quality, strength, and appearance; perform rework if necessary
Grind, finish, and clean welded assemblies to meet production and visual specifications
Work closely with fabrication, assembly, and quality teams to meet production schedules
Follow all safety procedures, company policies, and quality standards
Maintain equipment and keep work area clean and organized

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum 2–5 years of experience as a MIG/TIG welder in a manufacturing environment
Proven experience welding thin-gauge materials with minimal distortion
Strong experience with stainless steel and aluminum welding
Ability to produce aesthetic, precision welds suitable for visible lighting products
Proficient in reading blueprints and weld symbols
Familiarity with fabrication processes such as bending, forming, or light machining is an asset
Welding certification (CWB, AWS, or equivalent) is an asset

Skills & Competencies

High attention to detail and craftsmanship
Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement

Physical Requirements

Ability to sit and stand for extended periods
Ability to lift up to 45 lbs
Comfortable working with welding equipment, fumes, and PPE in a manufacturing environment
